Women’s Golf Day started as a passion project less than a year ago and I could never have anticipated this amount of growth and response for the first year.  Women’s Golf Day, June 7

Women’s Golf Day, June 7th, 2016 will take place in over 400 locations in 18 countries. The enthusiastic support we have received from all parts of the golf community has been heartwarming.

This year we will have tremendous participation and everyone working on this is very excited to see how large and global this has become in such a short amount of time.

We must acknowledge the hundreds of locations that have signed up in over 18 countries.

Getting ready for Women’s Golf Day in Rabat, Morocco

It is equally important to note the companies that have come on board and really engaged in this project including; PGA TOUR Superstore, Arcis management, ClubCorp, and Golfsmith.

We felt we could create a bridge to join women and girls together for a simple half day fun experience exploring the many options already available in golf. The concept is to centralize and globalize the event so that everyone was joining under the same premise with our mission to engage, empower and support women and girls playing golf and learning the skills that last a lifetime.

On June 7th, the format is two hours of lessons or 9-hole play and two hours of socializing, networking and learning more about next steps and options for participation in golf. There are so many great programs and organizations that can help further the game after this day like Get Golf Ready, the many LPGA and PGA teaching pros and facilities, EWGA and First Tee and Girls Golf to name a few. The team behind Women’s Golf Day are all industry veterans that have volunteered their time to assist in the creation and execution of this one day, four-hour golf experience for women and girls worldwide.

We feel it is very important to bring more women and girls into the game of golf and give them a fun, positive experience. The statistics on women entering the workplace, generating significant financial independence and influencing all aspects of life is compelling data that cannot be ignored. Seeing women as economic influencers and exposing them to a positive experience around golf is very important even if they choose to play once a week or twice a year.

  1. ONE OF MY FAVORITE GOLF FACILITIES IN THE US IS THE PGA NATIONAL GOLF RESORT IN PALM BEACH GARDENS, FLORIDA (HOME OF THE PGA TOUR HONDA CLASSIC). THE DIRECTOR OF GOLF, JANE BRODERICK, (PROBABLY AMONG THE TOP FEMALE GOLF DIRECTORS IN THE WORLD WITH BOTH LPGA AND PGA CERTIFICATIONS) IS ON BOARD FOR WOMENS GOLF DAY AND HOSTING A SITE. IF YOU LIVE NEARBY IN PALM BEACH OR JUPITER, STOP BY. HERE’S JANE’S REPLY:
“PGA National is excited to be part of Women’s Golf Day, allowing us to showcase our property and instruction offerings to local women. We have over 300 ladies in our two ladies associations, so every day here is Women’s Golf Day, but it’s always great to expose the property to new customers and prospective members. Many professionals underestimate the decision making power and the purchase power women possess. At PGA National, we understand it, embrace it, and support it!”
